BSUPA Watergate Bay Contest 2012

We arrived at Watergate Bay on Thursday morning, following a week of looking at the Magicseaweed.com web cams and surf reports that went from perfect to 25ft, then back to 6ft wind blown slop. Thursday was windy but with a 3-4ft swell running, myself, Gareth Grant, Simon Bassett and Holly Bassett got in the water for a warm up session. Both Gareth and myself were trying new low volume boards, which proved to be challenging in the windy conditions.

Results for Extreme Academy 2012 BSUPA National Championships – Watergate Bay

Once again the SUP world decended on Watergate Bay in Cornwall UK for the BSUPA National Championships. SUPGlobal were there, competing, meeting and soaking up the atmosphere, all full report will be coming very soon. In the mean time we have the official results - congratulations to all the riders the standard this year is going through the roof, but new comer Andre Le Geyt from the Channel Islands took the first in the Mens Open Surf absolutely ripping up the waves. National SUP Festival, Hayling Island, UK

What a beautiful weekend for an SUP festival! Glassy water, hot weather and lots to do. The National SUP festival is combined with the National Windsurf Festival, and with almost no wind at all on Saturday SUP took to the water in a big way.

Wittering Charity Paddle Race Results 2012

The 8th Annual Wittering Charity Paddle Race organised by West Wittering Windsurf Club and Shoresurf Club held on Sunday 29th August has more than doubled the amount raised over 2011 for The Snowdrop Trust. This year we raised the entry fee a little this year to £15, and all of this amount was given to the Snowdrop Trust, which also helped raise the overall amount.

1 canal, 1 river, 1 fall, umpteen locks, 125 miles, 30hrs 26mins

Mark Slater has already established himself as one of the top competitors on the UK Stand Up Paddle scene. Looking for that extra challenge he decided to tackle the classic UK paddle route from Devizes to Westminster, London. 125 miles of canal and river with locks, currents and tides to consider. Not only that Mark decided to do it non-stop. This is his story.

The Wittering Charity Paddle Racey 2012

The annual charity race starts from Shore Road (on the beach at East Wittering), and ends at West Wittering Windsurf Club and competitors may use surfboards, SUPs or kayaks (prizes and medals for the winner of each category COMBINED with highest sponsorship money raised).
